Namak Mandi and the Peshawar market: what to know
Namak Mandi is a wholesale market: prices for rough and parcels are excellent for dealers who can grade stones themselves, but a retail buyer walking in for one ring stone is at a disadvantage — cut stones are rarely certified, treatments are seldom disclosed, and heat-treated, glass-filled and synthetic corundum sit next to the genuine article.
